Yuri's Night is a global celebration of humanity’s past, present, and future in space. Yuri's Night parties and events are held around the world every April in commemoration of Yuri Gagarin becoming the first human to venture into space on April 12, 1961, and the inaugural launch of the first Space Shuttle on April 12, 1981. Yuri's Night events combine space-themed partying with education and outreach.

We're celebrating Yuri's Night at Discovery Station on Monday, April 9th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. We'll be showing "Hidden Figures", having a space-themed scavenger hunt and costume contest, and there will be light snacks too. Special admission rates apply.
The University of Michigan SEDS chapter is hosting a space carnival right on the campus diag! We will have microgravity bouncy houses along with space themed carnival games. Venus atmosphere cotton candy, micrometeorite popcorn, and Europa snow cones will all be on the menu. Our carnival games will feature stomp rockets, balloon darts, and USA vs USSR cornhole. The whole point is to have fun and get excited about space!

Venture Café is a unique experience: meeting new people, free beer/wine, presentations, and networking with the goal of encouraging startups and entrepreneurs. Each month St. Louis Space Frontier presents a panel discussion on Space Exploration and Settlement on the second Thursday. Since April 12th is the second Thursday AND Yuri's Night our focus is: The Biggest Party in the Solar System! (as far as we know). Panelists will present information on space programs around the world. We will be in the Havana room from 6:30-7:30pm, but join the party earlier! Venture Café runs from 3-8pm every Thursday.

This April 12, The Music Hall, in partnership with NASA Solar System Ambassadors Program, will present the documentary, The Mars Generation at 7pm in the Loft. Doors at 6pm. Local NASA Ambassadors will be on hand with materials, information and some space-themed artwork. Signature Space Cocktails will be on the menu, too! Join us for the celebration. Creative attire, welcome. The Mars Generation was chosen as one of the opening night films at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. It examines the science, politics and philosophy of mankind’s future journey to Mars. The story unfolds through the eyes of the teens who will be the next pioneers in space as well as the vanguards pushing the limits of space exploration. Come celebrate Yuri's Night in Evergreen's Space Museum! Join us for a night of space fun! Put on your most cosmic costume, and join us for space trivia, science demonstrations, a nighttime rocket launch, and robotic art challenge. Watch a space-themed drag show, starring some galactic performers, and see how you do in our costume contest for a dazzling prize! Listen to local space experts talk about the science of space, including astrophysicists and rocket scientists. Wine and snacks will be available and are included in admission price (below). Location: Space Museum building Cost: $10 for non-Members, $5 for museum members.

Dance, drink and geek out in celebration of humankind's first spaceflight! On April 12 1961, Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the first person to orbit the Earth and we honor this achievement with a world-class party featuring music by Seattle’s own Noise Complaint, local food trucks, aerospace guest stars and a costume contest!
